This DVD series aims to develop and create a better understanding for the appropriate training, adapted to the horses needs. Anja Beran learnt the art of classical equitation in the stables of Manuel Jorge de Oliveira, a pupil of the well known Nuno Oliveira. Now she is training horses of different breeds, from the age of three up to high school exercises. Classical equitation has been existing for centuries and as per Anja's opinion, it is the origin of all equestrian knowledge - and this, and ONLY this, is the basis of excellence in ALL disciplines.
Volume 1: The Art of Classical Dressage Training
The intention of this film is to give riders a different understanding of dressage and to make clear: dressage is made for the horse and horses are not made for dressage!
Anja Beran is a classical dressage trainer. Together with her mentor Manuel Jorge de Oliveira, she shows that only correct dressage work turns a horse into a riding horse. With well-shaped muscles and mentally as well as physically balanced, it matures and develops into a self-confident and satisfied partner - for a whole - and hopefully long - horse's life. Anja explains how all horses can benefit from proper dressage training. She starts with a physical evaluation of its weaknesses and asymmetries and continues with specific exercises to improve the physical constitution. Gracefulness, aesthetics, harmony and ease will be the fascinating result of her work.

Volume 2: Basic Training Provides A Solid Foundation
The dream of a perfect dressage horse: It exhibits lovely, elevated movements, aims to anticipate the rider's thoughts and it seems to glide through the arena as if by magic. But how to accomplish this goal?
A sound and careful basic training is the most important basis for any horse's successful development. In this film Anja Beran and her team show how they work with young horses. Following proper work at the lunge and a careful start under the saddle, the spectator can witness how first steps of lateral movements lead quite naturally to first steps of collection.
Approx running time 82 mins.
PAL and NTSC format
Volume 3: Schooling of Advanced Level Exercises
Following the proper basic training, the horse has the necessary basis to continue with gymnastic exercises. In this third volume of the series, Anja Beran and her mentor Manual Jorge de Oliveira show how advanced horses grow into higher exercises of classical equitation. The film also shows how to cope with difficulties during training, for example natural crookedness.
Approx running time 87 mins.
PAL and NTSC format
