The Perfect Laterals Trilogy by Sylvia Loch is a must for anyone working up the scales of training, with or without their own trainer. In each of the 3 separate films on this Perfect Laterals Trilogy DVD by Sylvia Loch, the viewer has the benefit of seeing both untrained and fully schooled horses performing live to the camera to show what truly works in equitation and how to avoid the pitfalls.

From the wavering steps of the young novice horse learning to work 'through' and into a contact to the confident, light steps of the fully engaged dressage horse in piaffe, AND offering the work WILLINGLY, you will be left in no doubt of the validity of the methods employed. Not only will you achieve better results, but your horse will enjoy them too!

In the first section, comprising of Shoulder-In, we are shown how this, the most important of the school exercises, teaches the horse to become more balanced, supple and engaged. As the first signs of collection emerge, we see how the rider's aids can assist, or block, the flow of the movement. Step by step, this brilliant film shows live a totally inexperienced horse introduced to Shoulder-in for the very first time. More experienced horses and riders are helped and corrected and all the answers as to how? and why? are lucidly explained. We are also shown the mysteries of tracking and how to avoid neck-in. This film has been highly popular all over the world with all levels of dressage riders.

In the second section, On The Bit, the poke-nosed novice horse is ridden first by an inexperienced rider and later by Sylvia Loch herself to demonstrate how we may achieve early rounding without stress. Bitting, the snaffle and double bridle and rein technique are all explored, together with the correct body and leg aids and how they affect the horse's back. Outline is demystified. Topline, and how to develop it with different exercises, explained. Problem areas and problem solving is a large feature of this excellent film which has received rave reviews.

In the third section, Travers Towards Half-Pass, all the secrets of these more complex and gymnastic exercises are revealed. Step by step and with real clarity the rider's position, aids and timing of the aids is explained. Again real life problems are explored and the work is shown on both the novice and advanced horse, proving that the method never changes, whatever the age, size or type of horse. Weight aids are invaluable for this movement, and again it is clear to see at what precise moment, the rider uses this fine tuning to achieve a result. Again tracking is explained and how to achieve the correct bend so necessary for the correct execution of each movement.

This DVD will be returned to again and again, GUARANTEED! The clever layout of the DVD with its many menus helps you to choose the various movements and exercises which will provide you with the tools for the athletic development of a happier horse, whatever his breed, age, shape and size.

Sylvia Loch is a well known exponent of the principles of Classical Riding, she has trained with many of the world's leading classical dressage trainers. On all of her DVDs she shows you how by using those principles you too can build a harmonious relationship with your horse.
