World and Olympic champion, Ulla Salzgeber shows you how to apply the classical principles of dressage to produce a winning combination: You and Your Horse. Learn how to apply the classical principles of dressage to produce a winning combination of both horse and rider in this two volume DVD set. With careful and sensitive training techniques, Ulla shows you the path to a happy and successful partnership. You can learn from one of the world's greatest dressage trainers.

In the first volume Ulla Salzgeber shows how to apply the classical principles of dressage. In her softly spoken yet firm and insistent manner, she teaches the importance of cause, effect and recognition regarding the rider's aids on a variety of horses from four to ten years old. The emphasis here is principally on the transitions from walk to trot and vice-versa, how to prepare and execute transitions, and the importance of using the half halt. In the programme Ulla takes two students through a series of movements including serpentines, rein back and changing rein. In doing so she highlights the importance of forward planning and preparation when riding a dressage test, and using the half halt between transitions.

At the end of each lesson, Ulla gives a commentary without instruction as each student rides a dressage test. Afterwards the students are asked to give an opinion on their performance and the difference of perception between rider and instructor/judge is explored.
Approx running time 45 mins

In the second volume Ulla Salzgeber shows how to further apply the classical principles of dressage. In her softly spoken yet firm and insistent manner, she teaches the importance of keeping the horse going forward in trot and canter, and how to maintain impulsion throughout the transitions.

In the programme Ulla Salzgeber teaches the correct use of the hand when going through transitions whilst not allowing the horse to fall behind the leg. Here two students riding horses eight and ten years old, are instructed in a variety of dressage movements at trot and canter, and include collected, medium and working canter, a turn on the haunches is also explained and demonstrated. Finally she introduces the use of the double bridle.

Once again at the end of each lesson, Ulla gives a commentary without instruction as each student rides a dressage test. Afterwards the students are asked to give an opinion on their own performance, and the perception between rider and instructor/judge about how the test went is explored.
Approx running time 40 mins.

These excellent and informative DVDs will teach you how to apply the classical principles of dressage for yourself and produce a winning combination of horse and rider in perfect harmony.
